Bad week

I have been having a really rough week...Father (really my step dad but I considered him a father) died....had services and out of town guest at my house for multiple days..bad food choices since we ate out so much with them.  My 2 year old keeps asking “where pappy at?" and my heart is breaking.  Missed the gym (had not missed my routine since I joined).

Finally got to have my out of network visit regarding my own health problems.  Found out I need to have surgery soon to repair an internal hernia (he suspects that is the main issue) and adhesions.  Now I have to get permission to have the surgery because it is out of network...hurry up and wait....I am still scared and worried- I have two babies and I am scared to have surgery.  Last time I had surgery-my recovery time was over doubled because I aspirated and got really, really, sick...involving specialists for my lungs & lung studies, it was a huge mess.  I'm over-whelmed and just frustrated...but plan on seeing the gym this week to get back on track. Did I mention my husband got some type of flu and he’s been in hiding so the rest of us don’t get it (yeah right?!) So- I have been handling 4 kids on my own…my DJD is horrible between the weather and lifting the kids more. Emotionally, I am running on nothing…drained, tired, and I need a vacation.   –End of vent- Thanks for listening.

I can't leave this page without posting...But, I don't know if I have any good advice either. You are absolutely overwhelmed with emotional and physical stress.

Personally, I'd suggest asking a friend or relative or one of your older kids to watch the 2 kids, take a bubble bath and have a good cry while you're there. As for the surgery...let the older kids know you'll need lots of help. They're definitely old enough to help out. Your hubby won't be sick forever, so, he can help out too.

Don't forget to take care of yourself. Remember the saying...If momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.

(I really dislike the word "ain't", but I didn't make the quote.)

Many sympathies in the loss of your dad - its especially sad to see the little ones so confused.

Many prayers and well wishes coming your way that you, hubby and the kids are feeling better soon - don't beat yourself up about the gym or bad food - it was a difficult time and I'm sure that was the last thing on your mind - I know it was for me when my mom died in February - I'm just now getting back to working out and eating right - it takes a lot out of you.

Best of luck on the pending surgery as well...knowing the history of what happened last time you had surgery may help it be prevented this time around.

Take care - Kathy

Thank you everyone for the kind words and thoughts....I intended to get on last evening and write something- but I decided I would avoid the computer and relax in bed.  I don't even remember laying my head down.  Trying to keep positive today- the best news is that it's Friday!  Thanks again for the support.
